270SEPTEMBER 18 Sun 1910. A little cloudy this morning. Walked to the p.o. and to the bridge & had a nice breakfast before we started at 9 on the most beauti- ful 10 mile drive to Livingston Lake - up "Roaring Branch" &c. and nicely thro' the wood. Elsie & Will met us at the long camp with the "Maud" and before dinner E.W. Mrs. Tait & I took a nice walk - 10 in the house. (Mr. Kinley of Mohegan is one) I took Edith & Roberth Tait for row & there Elsie took me for one. Had a late sup- per after a nice time around the roaring fire & then toasted marshmallows. Bed about nine. Mon 1911 Lovely day. Finished "The Harvester" tonight (rather light & improbable but interesting) Claude had Dr
& Mrs. Khedkar from Kolhapur, India come. Vedanta lectures &c. Tinker's right eye badly hurt. I think Fluffy scratched it.
Wed. 12 Nice day but my bad star is up - all day. Miss Fox, Miss McDonell & I went to the expposition tonight & enjoyed it. Devoted ourselves to "Art" mostly. I was shy a dollar when I got home! Thurs 1913. Soil "Soggy". I never saw anyone more sunburned than Herbert Stern (just back from the Islands) Claude & Family went to the horse show with the Allens. Jim took me to Lowenguth's this p.m. & then with (With Bohachek) to Thomas' (being furnished) and to his - own house and home. Built a little furnace fire. A letter from Lydia
.
Fri 1914 Another nice day Jim took me out to Florence
where I had tea and in the evening Irene Wynans & Katherine Fichtner came & we went over lake pictures &c. &c. Had a real nice time & grapes &c. &c. (no Edie Scott!) I got my (good) pictures today.
