229AUGUST 8 Mon 1910
Another lovely day. Went down
in the morning with
Claude for necessary errands and a good many
people called. The dear Perfects of course. The
papers were full of the most beautiful tributes to ourFather & wanted his picture &c.
&c. I sent a member away. Went up to Claude's to dinner - Never saw the children lovelier. Missed a
call from Mr. Foreman (who wrote a beautiful tribute in
the [illegible]) & others - went to bed used up at 8:30 -
but did not sleep.
Tues 1911
Better but still warm. A busy
day
Manas &c. We all 3 went to Cro'nest
to supper - sat out in the breeze with the children & then new
colored kintergarten blocks & sticks. Later Trudy & I went & sat on Davis's porch with Mrs.
B., Lura & Chat (in her new Kimona) It was beautiful
moonlight & a breeze.
Thurs 1912
Rainy morning and eve but OK
(sultry) between. Busy of course. CFB
getting ready for Green acre & his vacation.
Lunched with Mother & Jo at Sibley's. Busy fixing up my desk and fussing tonight
& now to play flinch with
Mother with the newflinch cards!
Fri 1913
Warm. Trudy came (from
Niagara Falls) this noon & Jim met her with the auto & took us home. Tonight we
cooled off sufficiently to go to
Cobb's Hill to a really cool band
concert.
Sat 1914
Warm. Started at 2 with
Mother
& Mr. Weld in the Ford - picked up
Bess &
Mary & went to
Canandaigua - Histor. Bldg.
church, Street Carnival - phosphate. Then back a lovely way
- wood & streams & r. rs. & Baby fawns (!) Then to Miss Upton's a dinner on the back lawn with
[illegible]
& Fred Churchill! Such a day!!
