232AUGUST 11 Thurs 1910.
The Office again J.G. was kind but said very little. I think
he is "shy" as Claude says - J.W. & I had a nice long talk. Hanna was very nice. Everyone was us fact. Auntie
went home at 11:35 a.m. And in the afternoon Mother
packed Father's trunk with his things
to send her.
Claude got back - pretty tired with business
cares & all but so dear! He is a brick. Sat up
till all hours answering letters &c. We have so many & such
lovely ones - all these of us.
Fri 1911
Rained in the night & this
a.m. Wore the hat I trimmed over yesterday! Did Theatre Programmes
tonight. Gurdon was here a little
while. Late getting to bed. (Slemin specifications today)
Sat. 1912
A little cooler - &
showery. Made blue prints all a.m. To Cro'nest
to dinner with Jo & the Boys - and
dear
Mother. Then photographed them & the boys
& I (and "Gretchen" & "Baby Bumps") went to the Park
the odd - ways - down dales & up hills & back thro' our woods -
a lovely two-hours stroll & the boys so dear. Mother & I went to Chattie to supper. Mrs.
Baker(just starting for Bedford) Lura (just back from
Sklt.)
Kitty C & Mrs. Olin
(just off for 1000 Is) were there & we
had a very nice time!
Mon 1913
A perfectly lovely day. Went
thro' the Station with Trudy,
Mother (& Claude) this a.m. - almost done & looks fine. in p.m. went with her to [illegible]
where she saw the Boys, who met me with Nana. I rode to Putneyville with them
& we explored the beach before supper and had a nice row in a flat
bottomed boat afterward. Bed early. Had quite a talk with Mr.
Ocumpaigh
- then rather interesting bachelor host!
Tues 1914
Rain today! Rode home with
Jim. Our "cousin" Dick
Schermerhorn (another of the Schermerhorn
Genealogy) called this p.m. Read tonight. 'Phoned Ruth
