266SEPTEMBER 14 Wed 1910 Lovely day. Mrs. Rowe told me all about Mr. Nash's "troubles" (spiers) He's having one now. Mrs. N. away. Went to Mrs. Weston's (not ready) and to Edna's to the type- writer place, Bank.Prices for pictures. Burkes, Edwards, Lura's Mary's & office. Home to lunch & back via. Mary & Bess. Duffy's Reeds & the office where I bought my new "Underwood" #5108708. The man staid till 5:30! Then I showed Gilmore some pictures & went to the Hippo & when I got home Marguerite came over & I wrote fixed pictures. Mr. & Mrs. Andrews called this noon. Thurs. 1911 Busy as could be all day long. Hutchinson & Cutler won the Eastman competition over CFB, Gordon Warner, Crandall
&c.! Very busy & perturbing day and was exhausted tonight. We had a hard coal fire in the grate all day & evening Read "Queed" & wrote Bessie Pratt.
Sat 1912 A little dubious as to weather. Lunched with Bess & Mary at the Cafeteria & tried to go & see Donald Brian dance in the Siren but it was full so went to the Victoria. After supper called at Caring & met three of the girls there Bed earlier than usual. Miss Fox in Buffalo Sun 1913 Cool today but fine. To Canandaigua on the 8:35 car. Sat with Alice & Clarence Galloway & the baby & Mrs. Crippen. We had a launch (20 or 25 of us) to Cottage City. & a nice time - tho' Mrs. Geo. had an accident in the p.m. & the littlest baby fell out of the carriage. Reg Flack & I waited on tables. I with little Chas under one arm. Ethel & I walked up the glen - came back for an hours walk with Reg in Canandaigua, waiting for a car. Home to a nice fire & supper. Mon 1914 Lovely day. Mr. Stern back & we had a jolly. He didn't get in much War after all. It is terrible now. The Germans have begun a TB awful retreat. Lunched with Florence Rogers at Sibley's. Tonight played flinchwith Mother. All our 3 girls are here now. Ruth Duroe, Miss Kurthagen
