32FEBRUARY 1 Tues 1910
Another busy day - All
JW's mail - Home to lunch -
Herbert Caring
came over to say goodbye - He is leaving for
Chicago (via. Syracuse!) as a
promotion to Foster people's Western branch. Marguerite
sick with the rheumatism &c. went over & inquired
for her tonight. Later Papa read we are
practising the cats on the elevator
Peter is a little shy coming up.
Wed 1911
Had a nice lunch at Duffy's with
Mary, Nellie & Lura today. Was
busy working on books - which I like, (& other things) a lovely
winter's day.
Claude is so dear. It is improving my
character to be with him, I think. Mother went to Mrs. Davis
&c. & we got our supper together late. Spent most of the evening
at Meta's - a nice visit.
Thurs. 1912
A lovely winter's day. Went
to the dentist's this p.m. He took off a bridge & "de-nerved" 3
teeth. Hurt like sixty! Later went up to
Helen Wray's to a tea to Miss Strong -
[illegible] - mostly
Central Church. Had a nice talk with Mae & saw Amelie. Miss
Marie, Miss Hardenhook, the Hitch-
cocks &c &c &c. House Beautiful[illegible] & Dossenbach.
Tonight read "Rebecca"
to Mother - Lovely moonlight.
Sat 1913
Windy & blustery. Went to
Cro'nest
to lunch. Took Hemeny a ship & a
puzzle & (he was sick with a cold) and took Channie to the circus at the
armory. We had a nice time performing bears,
horses, ponies and Elephants - Both boysso good. Nana fine!
Sun 1914
Very slippery but Mother & Ruth D
went to church. Nana came
& got dinner for us & Claude
(just home) and Marian
were here. Went to the New Station to meet
Alice at 5. & saw the
MacArthursDavises &c. (all very complimentary) Ruth H. brought
us home via. the Rochester. Had a nice visit with Alice
before & after & during supper - she went to the hotel tonight.
