on the way to the hospital tonight
stopped & saw the Bridgman baby - a dear. Father
looked bad tonight - but pretty good in the morning - Muggy &
thundery this p.m.

Lovely day. Mrs.
Danforth took me home in her electric coupe this noon. This
p.m.
Frieda had a reception for
Alice
and I went late. Amelie came over on the
piazza tonight & we had quite a talk. I fin- ished
"Fraternity" by Galsworthy - like the book all
but the end.
Mon 1912 July 29
A hard shower in the night walked am. everyone up & I didn't wake
till 8:30 In the morning had a lovely walk with Mr. &
Mrs. Mc. Intyre of Chicago
& Edith
& Florence Pannybacker of
Phila to Cedar Lake - first to the old (ordinary
bridge when we read an "Emma Mac Cherry" story & then
to the boats. After lunch sat in the lower summer house and read
"Tante" In the evening watched the youngsters dance a crowd
of Southerns came on all to at late tonight & "raised the roof".

Very warm. Went to the office
about 11 & worked till 1. Mr.
Stern came in a little while. Lunched at Cro'nest veranda. (The children by
themselves at a low table) Took pictures - Mother & I went to Jim's
house, then home to loaf and read &c. we miss our little Peter dreadfully. His grave is at Cro'nest.

Cool & fine. Had a nice lunch party - Trudy, Edith, Lura & Nellie (Mary invited
at Sibley's at noon. At 5 Jimtook
Lura & me to the station. Where we saw
Helen
off for California. Miss Dow was
there & chat & Zoe. Then went
& Lura's to dinner - Mother & Trudy for - a nice. fine & a good dinner of course.
