MEMORANDA
Nov. 1 1910 Henry's adenoid operation certainly [] him. He wanted Nannato "pour tea" on the popcorn (He has seen the popcorn men pour melted butter from a tea kettle). He sleeps in a "grown up" bed now & Told his father he saw the - moon in the night & got up & looked at it & didn't tell anyone! He remember the jack - lanterns from years back and talked about their "downer" teeth. He remembers all the "tations" (stations) between here & Wyoming & calls them out loudly like the brake man &c. &c. Sept. Claude was trying to explain a "vegetable poison" to the boys & Hy. said, Oh, yes, I know - candy - it's very bad for you". Chan woke up the other morning & said "Good Morning toes." Good morning hands". "Good morning old cold porch". He got in bed with Henry> & pretended he was Henry & Henry was Father ". Lura says the Davise's were much impressed with the boys fine behaviour at Frances' party & the way they shake hands with everyone & said "goodbye" with hats in hand. They were models, no mistake. Frances won't answer nowadays! Dec. 25 1912 The boys were loaded with presents. Chan's chief delight being a farm from uncle Fred and a horse from Gran'ma. Henry's another railroad (!) and a conductor's game tickets, punch, hat &c. &c. We had a happy day together. Nana still in. Nov. 17 1913 Henry was telling me how he lost his latest tooth "I was eating prunes and it came out when I didn't know it, and when I saw it I thought it was an imperfection in the prune!!" He told his father, before that he thought "the prune had a sickness!" Dec. 28 1914. Mon. Florence called in great distress this a.m. The break with her and Irene has come, I am sure. Past night at E.A.S.'s where they both went together & she asked both to stay all night & then I. asked F. not to. I haven't heard I's story as I was out when she called me up tonight - ah me! How very sad.
