Lovely sunny, cold beautiful day. Got up late. Went over to Mar- guerites in a.m. & all to Claude's to dinner. Jim was there.
Henry & Chan had on their new Harry
& Edith
white suits. After dinner we had the Christmas tree
& it was such fun. Henry got out
packages. Claude & opened them & I
put them down. We all got lovely things.Jim gave them lovely clocks & a "derrich". Afterwards
Bessie Hebbard came over & they
showed her the tree - pointing out its beauties so cunning! Jim walked down with us & we stopped at
Marion
a few min- utes. Motherwent to church tonight and I went over to
Carings a little while & then read old
letters &c. &c.
Mon 1911
Warm Xmas day.
Rain early. Channie & Henry were dear with the stockings & new
dolls. Hans & Gretchen. After breakfast everybody went to the Xmas
tree in the veranda - fine. Then to
Millbrook & had sand pile with the children.
Some went in bathing. It was hot & I had a bad 2 hours or so with
neuralgia. After dinner Dorothy W. &
I walk the back way (lovely) to spanish point - a big gale - beautfiful.
Letitia & the boys.
Hermione rowed & [illegible] & walked
most of the p.m. We missed them - & were rowed back by a black boy
from the washer woman's. They never came till dark. A nice chat with the
W's & early to bed. cassava pie. fine
dinner &c.

Bright sunny day.

Lovely morning. Mother & I at
Cro'nest about 8 & to
breakfast & all day. Tree after breakfast - played on the floor - a walk
with Henry (to "James'
baby's") dinner (by
Mother & me) The boys & all off at 4
in Hammon's carriage. Talk with Nana
& the Dr. Boy's supper & Letitia's. Home about 7 and a visit to
Marguerite's &
Meta's (Ewers & [illegible] Beach) with Mother !
Thurs 1913 Christmas. Didn't get up early. Felt really sick - abed, but
managed to go to
Claude with Mother. Mr. Garwissen then to dinner and
a little tree near the plant window. Chan didn't feel well. Henry's eyes shining. In the evening Mother & I went over to see the "City" & tree in
Anderson park. Stormed late in evening.
Fri 1914 Christmas day, & ideal as to weather. Slept very late &
about noon went up on the hill - had plum puddings with the family &
then walked with Claude & the
children to the penetenting. Came home & rested awhile & dressed &
then went with Mother to Florence's to a nice xmas
supper. Lou
& "Chap" & the little dressmaker &
Miss Mullholland & her son & later dear Irene- de- lighted with her love kewpie
& [illegible] her.
