343NOVEMBER 30 Wed. 1910
A pretty strenuous day &
I had a bad head- ache or toothache or something. Staid till 5:45 came
home to lunch - went to bank &c.
Mother gave me $30 of the JRS fund! (She got 230 & I 227) Tonight
I read a little while & went to bed early - about 9:30. Was very tired & used up. Farquharson
gave me some lovely pictures of Claude & Henry
(my negative.)
Thurs 1911 Thanksgiving. A gray day. Cleared up linen closet (my part)
&c. this a.m. & then Mother & I
went to the G.V. club & met Claude & Henry &
Chandler &
Nana for dinner (all alone) in the ladies
cafe. Very nice. They took the children to see Sibley's
7 lovely windows. They were delighted. Then came
home & Mother & I had a nice
grate fire all the p.m. & evening & read & sewed together - but
the afternoon of Thanksgiving is the bluest day in the year, I think.
Sat 1912
Lunched with Bess & Mary at Sibley's. Had their
picture (Remington) I gave them framed for Xmas & then
went out to see the beginnings of Gilmore's
house & walked nearly around Cobb's Hill
Reservoir. The valley & the sky were beautiful. "Home Acres" full of water! Had a
chat with Mrs Rowe whom I found with Mother (just back from
Dansville) and went to the "Perfects" (& [illegible] & Zoe) at Davis's. Mary didn't
come, was very very tired when I got back.
Sun 1913
Lovely day. The boys were
dear. I got our breakfast about 8 & then the boys went off by
themselves to Sunday School.
Mother came & we got such a nice dinner
together & then Henry & I went
to the Art Gallery & walked way out Atlantic
Ave. to Blossom Road. Came home &
gave them both supper - a warm bath & bed. C & E. came about nine.
Mon 1914
A rainy day. Lunched with
Bess &
Mary who told about the horrid time
they had in Schenectady with the
Barron's. Irene
came & walked part way home with me. I changed & went to the
Rochester for a nice dinner & visit with Alice, Nan
& Cora Bradley! Home rather early.Alice had a bad cold.
