47FEBRUARY 16 Wed. 1910 Slippery morning - snow later. Was so used up I didn't go to the office this morn- ing, but finished a picture puzzle & read the magazines & loafed & played with the cats in the library. Told the girls about the play this pm. & did all my blanks &c tonight read & wrote while Father wrote & Mother. Got my Chan - Cooper
pictures which are pretty good after all (last Sunday's)
Thurs. 1911 Felt my miserable all day with Neuralgia (my loose tooth) went to Dr. McInter. Lunched with Lura at Sibley's. Mother at Cro'nest with the Tappans & children. Chan calls the steam from horses "the hot of the horses". Came home straight & got cozy in my bathrobe &c with the cats. Went to see Meta & take her "Alice - for - short" this a.m. Fri. 1912 Letters from Nan in Pasadena And Hazel Lusher in Bermuda "Lovely weather" (!) &c. Busy days in office - but nice Jim sick today. Bath & bed early. Sun. 1913 Stormy day. CFB in N.Y. Winnie brought Henry & Chan down & They staid to dinner & till 3:30 or 4. They were angels - went home alone. I stopped in to see Minette who was lonesome. Later read "The Happy Warrior". Mon. 1914 Lunched with Bess & Mary. Tonight Ruth K & I met them & went to the Armory to the Policeman's ball, which was great fun. The Armory looked fine & was crammed, all sorts of costumes & dances &c. &c. Staid till 10:30 or so. Had a bad cold which Ruth doctored. Feel Pretty miserable tonight.
