250AUGUST 29 Mon. 1910 Still cool. Mother, Bess,Mary & I lunched to- gether at Sibley's. Then Mother spent the after- noon waiting at the station for Miss Garfield. Who arrived early & spent the afternoon on the piazza waiting for Mother! We had a nice supper - a grate fire and ice cream from Mrs. Caring's. Sewed &c. Mr. Hanna is back - astonished that I'm going! Henry sick but better tonight. Tues 1911 Cloudy a.m. but cleared. In the locks a good deal. The Islands before sunset - beautiful. Got acquainted with Rev. & Mrs. Dicker (daughter of Bishop Dwen of Quebec) & 4 with children. They know Mrs. Hartley - wife & dau son, a lovely sunset - & sat on deck late (cool too) Kingston about 10. Walked up- town. Saw moving picture show & got cantelope, candy, peanuts, popcorn &c. Had a spread in the stream at midnight. The Van Ingens, Pratt & us. Thurs 1912 Bad hay fever (!) today! We had a grate fire tonight - it was so cold & went to bed early. Felt really very miserable. Fri. 1913 Mr. Stern has bad hay fever today (see above) but not I. Fine day. Capt. & I got our pictures which were simply fine! Rode home in the auto with Jim & Helen - picked up Mother at the grocery. Mrs. Nash here a little while in the evening. A letter from Florence McL. I wrote some letter - to Lydia
&c. Am reading "Pollyana" which Mrs. Caring lent me.
Sat 1914 Rained all night & most of the day. Just took me (& Mother) to the Station & I had a nice ride. (Pullman) to Carter. Got acquainted with 10 yr. old Dean Belts & his Mother of Syracuse (going to Big Moose) At Eagle Bay took "Waddy's" [illegible] there Goodiner's launch to Woodhober
7th Lake. Where were Bess & Mary, Mr. & Mrs. Sidney Adams & little Betty, Mr. & Mrs. Bush. Mr. & Mrs. Sarg's (arriving with me) Mr. Jerry, "Jerry Foster", Miss Carpenter of Oswego &c. We had supper, a nice camp fire, played "run" & then slept (good) a nice corner room $2
