181JUNE 29 Wed 1910 A lovely summer day. Channie seemed ok. Dear Father went to the hospital this p.m. Mother went with him in a fox cab & I met them these. Helped his room & all and Mother & I staid till 7:30 talk- ing to him on the pleasant piazza. He was cheerful and dear. Had a late supper Dr. Jewett there Dr. Pring & Miss Frye & Miss Truisby misses. Thurs 1911. Much cooler. Busy day. Claude got a very nice letter from Will Hutchins. so appreciative of the "Beautiful Necessity" & other things. I lunched with Bess & Mary at the Cafeteria Sherby Murray was in a good deal of the afternoon & walked done with me. Mother cleaned had Carmichael move things around - bed &c. Sewed tonight. Sat 1912 Hot morning but a North breeze later. Came home to lunch & then went to the Matinee. "The Commuter's". Met Mother afterward & shopped of with a bit. Got a dress at Fred's (green & white) Miss Mc. D. brought in some cherries & Frieda sent Mother some roses. Sherby
was in a long time this a.m. Bed late (sewed)
Sun 1913. Cool night but pretty warm today. Packed or planned it & fussed around this a.m. went to Cro'nest with Mother & the boys were deep in "wind" & their "Island" in the back yard Had on their Corduroys. Had a long talk with Claude as I lay on the sofa (with a headache) After dinner. Mother in the Nantucket. He may be married "next time"! Came down by Jim's house. Fire in Lehigh Yards. Used up this p.m. Mon 1914. Cloudy. Lunched with Marguerite& Ruth Brette on their way to Dansville. Played flinch tonight. House cleaning!
