224AUGUST 3 Wed 1910 Much warmer & a terrific thunder storm, late tonight. Father suffering much and so brave. It tore my heart to be with him & know its - I staid till the nurse came tonight - went down to Frieda's for a little while tonight & then sewed. Sibley'sfor lunch. Thurs 1911 A perfect day - for us (It rained here) Trudy & I met Nana& the children at the station - & went to "Ontario No. I" and got our favorite corner. Had a lovely day. Dinner on deck & supper inside. Charella & Mr. Burr, Ida & Harry Joiner, Geo. Otis, Mr.
& Mrs. Harry Otis Poole & daughter on - & little Albert [illegible] made our acquaintance. We were only in Coburg about an hour. I kept the children on board over watched the cars being taken on & off. Chan slept 2 hours coming home. I went up with Nana and carried one child - in the rain! We all enjoyed it very much. Fog at Charlotte
Sat 1912 Very cold & the cheerful wood fire seemed good. In the forenoon I went for a long walk with Natale's, Mother, Mr. Davis (of Austin Tex) across the fields & up the road a mile and a half or so. After lunch sat by the fire & sewed & read & went down to the dock & was in the summer house awhile - but inside was best. Just before supper, Mrs. Ancona & I walked down behind the [illegible] (my favorite resort) Had a gay evening, dancing &c till after 12 when the boat came in. The parlors were full. They presented a clock to Alec Fraser. Sun 1913 A lovely day. Breakfast on veranda about 9. Work done up in no time - everybody helped. A siesta. The Andrews,[illegible] Dorothy D. called- went to Baileys. Then all walked to Maple Beach - for ice- cream - [illegible] &c. Then bath (not me - I read) & dinner on veranda - a sudden squall - sail boat in trouble & finally hydroplane & Catty, Peg & I rowed after it & then down to Willard's for a nice little visit - back in almost rain. Bonfire - Willard Morris & the girls (3) came. Late supper - Thunder - grate fire & marshmallows - Bed. Thu 1914 July 23 (see back) This is the day I skipped back then - an uneventful one except that Claude & Eugenie started for a nice vacation at Deerfield - I lunched with "Captain" - just about to start for Maple Beach, Conesus, with Carrie Campbell.
