124MAY 3 Tues 1910 A rainy day from morning to night. Felt very badly about the way Marguerite talked about Edith - Those things do no good & make me so hot I am speechless! Went to Nan's this noon. She gave me a raw egg in Sherry with my shampoo! Young Wilmot Castle came to have a wig done up for college dramatics. Our new girl Elsie McDonald, & Alice giggle a good deal! J.W. feels badly for some reason lately - went over to Meta's & saw Theo, Carl
& Dr. W. Washing dishes! Then read "Happy Hawkins". Its fine.
Wed 1911 Still very busy. Mother cleaned [illegible] I lunched with Mrs. Baker and Lura at Sibley's. Sewed (curtains for my book cases &c.) in the evening. Reed "Clever Betsy" a little. Fri. 1912 Lovely day but cool. Poor little Chan is real sick with measles. Nana came in tonight to stay till Sunday. He wanted "court plaster on" (his arms!) Henry spent the day with Gran'ma and had dinner with his auntie! He was as good as gold. Henry drew some wonderful maps - from memory. Sat 1913 Claude told Henry he hoped he'd like his new mother & he said "But I like Auntie Maisie! This p.m. Coralyn
, Lydia
& I went to Sea Breeze & to the high bluff near the YWCA Home & stayed till sunset - with a lunch & "The Prodigal" and a new "Brownie No.2" which I gave Lydia
! Had a lovely time. Lake like glass - & high.
Sun 1914 Lovely May morning. The 2 Ruth
's & I took a lunch & went to Sea Breeze (Vac. Home partly done) had lunch on the shore & then walked thro' Durand - Eastman woods - full of arbutus! Got home before four & dressed I went to Lura's where I had a nice dinner with her & Mrs. B. about dusk. They enjoy the Kenilworth Terrace flat very much.
