68MARCH 8 Tues 1910 Snow storm this morning & cold. I walked - met Susie Otis - Dr. Scranton's former assistant & she told me a little about his sickness & great suf- fering. Lunched at Sibley's with Mary. Bess being sick with a hard cold at home. Hippo to- night & Fatherread aloud after our late supper & then I read my book. Claude has a new draughtsman - Mann- & a new office boy Robt Cheeseman. They all love the new offices. Wed 1911 The New York men
were here & it was a strenuous day altogether with neuralgia &c. Fine weather this a.m. Home to lunch. Met Mr. Vick who talked about Charlotte

Fri 1912 Stormy p.m. & evening - Mr.
Hanna
& his friend Mr. Black
came over & Marguerite & spent the evening - till eleven! At last "Ray
" & Marguerite have met!
Sat 1913 Cold. Went up to Pike's shop and saw Butler's church window (with Jim & "Herbie") this noon. Finished the Ramsdell Specifications (masonry) and at four went with Coralyn
to the Gordon Theatre to see the "Inaugur- ation" pictures - & others. Wrote some tonight.
Sun 1914 Nice day. Home till 4:30. Washed collars - read a little. Entertained & was entertained by Hemeny & Chan ("Horry & Challi" in French H. says) Went over to Chat's & stayed to supper - Cousin Elizabeth was there & later Frank & Zoe. Had a nice chat of course. Hamilton & Milly are in N.Y. on their way home from Atlantic City.
