Apr 23 1910. Sat. Guernsey Curtis - of the beautiful voice - walked a little way with me tonight & said he was going to the country next week to work on a farm all summer - & then to Germany - to study - in the Fall. He doesn't look very well I think. Alice Bradshaw is now engaged (Mar. 12) to Clarence Galloway - on March 14th - her birthday. It was to another youth! Such is youth!! May 5 1911 Claude entertained Mr. & Mrs. Walter Hampden (Mabel Moore) Mr. Louis Anspacher ("Jno. Marchand") (Miss Kidder's husband) Will Hutchins, Lawrence Eyre, Mr. & Mrs. Sheldon Lewis, E.R. Miles I should say 75 or 80 people came. The view from the club, Letitia & a maid helped and the boys were in evidence. Every- one seemed to have a good time & I was very beautiful. Aug 4 1912 Met at "Summit House Port Cockburn - Mr. Alec. [illegible] (drinks) Mr. A-F. May 29 1913 (Jim's wedding) after we all went to the house & say the lovely presents (she wore a lovely gold & platinum & sapphire bracelet from Jim) Then I talked with Stern & [illegible] &c. and we all sat down to a delightful breakfast. Louise Fenner & Daisy Bacon were with Mother & me.Claude stood by with Jim& was at the bride's table (8 in all) Oct. 23 1914 Chandler has been making poems - thinking & working on them. I copy three from his dictations (Henry's titles) Autumn Nature "Autumn has come once more, once more. The leaves are turning yellow & orange & red. The birds are going south, once more. The trees are bending their great big boughs. The clouds are sailing in the air. Winter has come once more, once more." (over)
