282SEPTEMBER 30 Fri 1910 Lovely day. About 5:30 Mother & I went to Clover St. on the car & found Alice Jones, Marion
. Robert
& Helen Sayles - & later Lewis and had a delicious dinner and a very nice visit with them. Lew looks well & is very animated &c. He took us home Via. Elmwood Ave. & Monroe in the Auto. Helen
came too - for the ride. We sat up rather late afterwards.
Sat 1911 Lovely day. Brought Bess H. home to (a good) lunch with me. Then ripped, sewed &c. Went to Mrs. Nash's to telephone & to the Grocery. Wrote letters (Charlotte Steere
& Alice W. &c) and in the evening read and sewed to bed early. Jim - phoned. Is at home & improving fast.
Mon 1912 Cool & pleasant. Busy day. Lunched with Bess & Mary who are having their troubles getting the house finished. Miss McDonell was over tonight. She has a "nice typhoid case"! Bed betimes. Tues 1913 Another lovely day. I had a very successful & interesting luncheon at Sibley's. Helen D. and Florence M. before five Jim took Mother & me (& Helen, of course) out to see Vick's Asters (acres) in Greece. When we finally found them they were supurb but we found lovely road & bridges &c and got lost first. Finally landed at Mr.
& Mrs Joe Humphrey's & had such a good time - all got supper together and all it around the Franklin (see mem) Mr. Stern took me to his home this a.m.
Wed 1914. Lunched with Lura & Mrs. Baker today & went down to banks &c. Tonight Meta & Herma came over (she has been here thro' Sept.) Had a nice visit before the fire. The Behns had family groups taken last Sunday. Talked about Meta's prospective child &c. Wrote & sent off pictures later.
