107APRIL 16 Sat 1910.
Fine, but a litle windy.
CFB went to
Buffalo
tonight to make a Theosophical speech there tomorrow. Home at noon &
tonight shopped. Miss Mc. A
's birthday - treated to ice cream. Had a long talk with
Frank Davis - just back from
Bedford
with Frances & with Miss
Gould in Scrantom's whose
brother has just taken a fine position in Albany.
Tonight read "Keziah" after our late supper. Made a short call at
Carings - (Moyer
called)
Sun 1911
I woke up at 6 (in the den) to
find a regular blizzard outside. This Easter morning! Later the
sun melted the snow - but it was cold (& beautiful.) We had such a good dinner at CFB's - strawberry shortcake for desert. Expected Frances D. but she didn't come. Claude gave the boys some beautiful
aeroplanes from Schwartz's (& some box cars) I did
their bee - & stork - bibs. We had a lovely afternoon. Tonight read my
belovedest novel "Peter Ibbetson"
Tues 1912
Reports confirmed this
morning that the huge steamer "Titanic" was sunk by an iceberg
yesterday - on her maiden voyage with about 1400 people. Over 800 were
saved. She cost $10,000,000. It is tre- mendous! a lovely day today. Lunched
with Bess
& Mary at Sibley's. They say Mrs. Davis told "Rastus"
Frank Davis & Zoe Parkerare engaged! Claude
went to Geneseo today. I was "comfortably busy". Read
& wrote tonight. Mrs. Baker's
birthday.
Wed. 1913 Lydia
came back from
Washington and has a room (which I got her at $1.50) at
Mrs. Lawrence's. We went over & sat on the edge
of her bed a little while tonight.
Thurs 1914
Rain & rain. Cold &
horrid. Lunched with Florence at
Sibley's & rode home in the
Ford with
Jimmy. Played flinch tonight - all four. Ruth DuRoe still
"Mumpy".
