331NOVEMBER 18 Fri 1910 Dark dreamy day. Very busy. Theosoph- ical work. Wolcott garage specifications &c. ate with girls at Sibley's. They were blue too. Home late. Motherused up - lights burnt out - drop light broken &c! I went over to Mrs. Rowe's a little while I was about going to bed when electric light man came & staid nearly an hour - fixed drop light &c. Sat 1911 Still stormy & horrid. Lunched with Lura at Sibley's and "kept shop" this p.m. Wrote Mother's coterie speech for her (old home week) It was good too. Expected Helen Sayles but she phoned late & didn't come - at Claude's strong recommendation & went (to' very tired) to see Frances Starr in "The Case of Becky" - quite a wonderful hypnotic - dual-personality play. Came up in car with Theo - just from Syracuse. Mon 1912 Mother dressed today. I lunched with Lura & Hamilton & Millie (just back). They are to live on Chestnut St. this winter. Tonight took Coralyn
to the first Dosen- bach concert (on CFB's tickets) Lydia
sat up- stairs. The Ewers - Frey - Steinhausens were next us. Charella the front Hollisters behind &c. Gurdon back after 6 weeks - one arm in a sling yet.
Tues. 1913 (mem) Warmer but cloudy & rain in p.m. & eve. The YWCA Donation at the new building. I went over and had a beefsteak dinner with Mother at noon and at night ate with Lura, Bess,Mary, Capt. Alice Colby. Jeanette
? Mrs. Baker - Frank & Zoe. Then most of us went to the Gordon - & Rastus, who waited on us. I felt pretty rocky - everyone on the hill has colds.
Wed 1914 Had a luxurious bath in our bathroom when I finally got up & after our late breakfast in palm room left C.U. & called at Harry's office (not in) & Rob Tappan's, (such an interesting place) went for theatre tickets & then back to hotel. Nearly saw Mrs. Conde, but instead met C.U. at 500 5th ave. Went to Women's Exchange for lunch & taxied to Shubert & saw Faversham in "The Hawk". Shopped on Broadway - dressed. Had a nice chicken dinner in the grille & then to see Elsie Ferguson (& Anne Meredith in the "Outcast" lovely). Then to Astor Moon room for a lovely talk over crab Newburg & wine - Faversham at next table
