120APRIL 29 Fri 1910 Snow this a.m. & then rain! Lunched with Bess & Mary with Mrs. Crosby's letter & [illegible] I'm beginning not to want to go. [illegible] Father's 78th birthday. Mother went to a church supper. I fussed - wrote figured "packed" & now bath & bed. Went to Rowe's & did a puzzle. Also to "Nicholas" Nickleby &c. at H. Sat 1911 Still real warm. A lovely day. Claude home but Letitia & the boys are staying over I was busy till nearly five then went home & dressed & went up to Davis' to dinner with the Macs & Lura. Helen just back from Indianapolis. We had a lovely time Chat gave me a lovely book of Stevenson's early essays for (Father's) birthday. Mon 1912 I can't believe dear Father wd. have been 80 today. A dark cold rainy day. Jim sick tho' he came down for a little while. I was very busy stayed down (alone) this noon and till nearly 6 tonight. Sewed on the evening. Mother & I are re-reading "Penelope's Progress" aloud together. Tues 1913. Prof. Gilmore is 89 - 9 more than Father. They gave him a dinner at the Park Ave. church. A clear fine day. Went, late to lunch & this p.m. Harriette

& Evelyn Hubbard took me for a lovely auto ride - thro' Penfield the Country Club - [illegible] &c. Tonight Mrs. Arnold was up & then Harriette
(not Louise) Had a nice grate fire.
Wed 1914 Cool. Mrs. Baker lunched with Mother home and Lura with me at Sibley's Tonight Jim brought me home & then I dressed & went with Mother, to the church supper &c. Ate with Mother, Mrs. Ackerman, Mrs. Buell, Florence
& Miss Smith. Quite a nice time. Wore my new silk.
