183JULY 1 Fri 1910 Went to the Hospital early with some went peas from Elsie. A goodish night. worked to- day. Trudy & Mother lunched with me at Sibley's. At 5:30 I went to the hospital & found him more like himself then before & quite cheerful. Dr. Jewett, phones us tonight however that the growth was malignant! Went to Meta's for a chat & to see the wedding presents &c. They like the pictures. Sat 1911 Warm. Claude felt "fine" (as com- pared with yesterday) until Reinhardt came in and gave him" a blow in the Solar plexus" by saying they, had to cut $50000 out of the station! (Mr Smith says) Mother & I went to (South Park to supper and to hear the concert. It was beautiful & quite cool. Mon. 1912 Lovely day. Rode down with Claude who goes with Mrs. Watson's party to "Patience" tonight. A sort of a [illegible] day - but such Mondays don't bother me as much as they used to Bohachek made a "dandy" poster. Went to Miss Bridgeman's for my dress tonight & later walked to the library with Marguerite. Then sewed & did accounts. Tues 1913 Another boiling day & a hoodoo. sore teeth. Circus day ("Edith Tallface" took our children) Things piling up at the office. Stern's Automobile smashed. We decided to buy a 5 passenger ford. I lunched on ice cream & came home at 5 exhausted. Got my tickets for Pt. au Baril this a.m. Wed 1914 Horrid day. Some rain St. Helen lunched with me at Sibley's to plan picnic but was very late (on acct. off her Mothers tantrums) DeGraff lunched with us & we saw Bess & Mary too. Went to the Movies tonight & then helped settle (after varnishing floors &c)
