231AUGUST 10 Wed 1910.
Like an April day. It poured
all night & then cleared. Was lovely this morning. The
Willards & Jones & Dem came early - as soon as the rooms were
fixed. I fixed the flowers & Elsie helped
me. We had to wait a little for Fred
& Marian, but the service was
beautiful. They sang ([illegible]) "I may not climb the
Heavenly Heights" & "Lead Kindly Light" & Dr. Crapsey was nice. The
Willards staid a little & later we fixed all the flowers
(except the wreaths, which they took) for the hospital. It showered a bit.
Fred came - after dinner & at 3 we went
for a drive in a club carriage, did Errands. Took the flowers to the
hospital and went
[illegible] we called in Edna's. Then to Cro'nest to
dinner with.
Marian & the children. Bed about eleven,
& the hard day is over.
Thurs 1911
Hot again! Nothing special
happened.
Claude working on Eastman
competition. Called on Mrs. Rowe tonight. She
goes to Dansville Old Home week tomorrow. Read a little and
sewed right after supper got $500 from JRS
Matter.
Sat 1912
Muggy day. Mrs. Macaulay is not coming to see Jo, tomorrow, as we hoped. Home to lunch
& then with Jo to see Vaughen
Glaser in "The Melting "Pot" - quite good. Then we
went to
The Clover Leaf for afternoon tea (& coffee) and to
some cigar stores for magazines for Kath.
It rained hard after I got home. Quiet evening.
CFBin Deerfield.
Sun 1913.
It rained so we didn't go to
Williamson
today. Muggy & horrid, Dinner at home. Claude
& Eugenie went to
Allen's and called here later. Still later
Trudy & I walked up to Jim's house - & on to the park and back. It grew cooler toward evening
& there was a lovely yellow and pink sunset.
Mon 1914
Still hot & muggy. A heavy
shower at noon. Tonight went to
Mechanics to supper. Then to
Ruth
's "office" to the store room &c & to her room at the
Homestead. She takes Miss Stubb's room
