212JULY 22 Fri 1910 Jo lunched with Mother & me at
Sibley's. Then we shopped some. Went
to see Father at night. He isn't gaining
much. The Boys & Letitia &
Celia got home this p.m. - unexpectedly. Chat with
Theo.
Sat 1911
Lovely morning. Went to the
office and wrote one letter and then to the 10:25 R W & O train. Mothercame to see me off. Read
"Fraternity" all the way to Oswego. Got to
Trudy's just in time for dinner.
Uncle Will
met me. The flat is very nice. Went to
Schiller's & met Kate Steele
at five & went out to the Beach for a basket supper (good) &
then I went back & G. & I sat on the
bluff (like Roosevelt's Island) & watched the lovely sunset.
Saw Miss Howell on the car coming back & stopped at
Himes & at Stowell's.
Mon 1912
Pleasant weather & cool.
Came home this noon & again tonight, just long enough to dress. Went
to Cro'nest to dinner. Everyone doing
archery. Boys have me on "bone arrows". Jo & I went to see Vaughan Glaser at the
Temple in "St. Elmo" - very
sentimental. Peter sleeps with me in Mother's room.
Tues 1913
Pleasant day. Lunched with
Lura &
Mary Gridley & her friend. Tonight met
Charlotte (& Frank) for dinner at the
white kitchen and then went to a
moving Picture show & then to the Lyceum
to see "Her Husband's Wife". Quite a gay day but was rather
used up after it.
Wed 1914
A busy day. Hustling out
the Buell - Ackerman specification.
Trudy came at 8:30 tonight (&
liked the new station) I met her & we talked of course, later
(see Aug 3)
