13JANUARY 13 Thur. 1910. Warmer, but raw and damp & rather dis- agreeable - came home to lunch for a change. Claude rented the upstairs. 4th fl. Main St. offices 414 - 415 & 416 at $60 per month, including light but he to build par- titions (except the one already in!) Walked home tonight & read "A Certain Rich Man"
& wrote some tonight. Gertrude says Oliphant's is selling out in Oswego & sent me a happy letter from Grace Oblemis. Bought fire irons at M. & Bouchers. Fri 1911 mem*Friday the 13th. A bad wreck on the Central at Batavia - at least 5 killed. Fog everywhere. Home to lunch. Henry & Chan here & such dears. H. says Tinker
 was "smiling" as he sat with the corners of his mouth turned up. Went to Nan's for my hair to- night. Came home to find dear Mother at bed. I'm afraid its "grippe". Claude gives quite a large dinner tonight. Sat 1912. Cold. Alice went shopping this a.m. & I met her & Gurdon at the Rochester where we lunched. Then she & I went to "The Price" a queer "divorce play" at the Lyceum - which we enjoyed. Then Gurdon came up to supper (chicken - Mary Ward got it) and spent the evening - by the fire. Afterward Alice read us Edith's letter - Nancy
's "frightened dog" story! Mon 1913 Grippy weather. Didn't feel like doing anything in particular. Lydia
 went to Rochester Orchestra alone (Claude took Trautmann) Tues 1914 14 degrees below zero (official 11 degree) & kept it up most all day. Mr. Jackson here with first YMCA plans. Went down town to the bank and lunched with Edith at Mechanics. Staid at the office till 7 o'clock, finishing up. Packed tonight & talked &c. Pretty all used up.
