226AUGUST 5 Fri 1910
Weather bad this a.m. but
seemed much better tonight, saw Mr. Forman who called.
Sibley's
to lunch & shopped. Claude looking
after Elbert Newton's affairs. Miss Mc
A. back so things are easier at office. Edna, Reba
& Mr. W.
over tonight. Read & wrote. People are so lovely & I get such
nice notes & things & so do Father & Mother - notes,
flowers, jelly, wine &c. &c.
Sat 1911
Nice day tho' rather warm. I
did some shopping in the morning and between 12 & 1 and this p.m.
Trudy & I sat on the piazza
and X=stitched bibs &c. Mother came down
later & Mrs. Rowe came over - just back from
Keuka Lake. In the Evening we went to see
Vaughn Glaser in "Alias Jimmie" Valentine. It
was very good. Mr. & Mrs. Ely &
Larne sat in front of us.
Mon 1912
A little warmer. Looked cool
in morning but day was charming. Finished packing. Talked with
Anconas. He read on the rock &
then spent the - rest of the morning up at the Tennis Court with the
Mulligan's &c. After dinner they gave Mr.
Pebbles, Rob Mitchell & I a great send
off - Bouquets of yellow daisies soup "Old Fray Bonnet" - dipping flag &c.
We left about 10:00. Fine trip & got acquainted with Leighton
Steele's brother in law on boat. Big regatta at the Royal.
McIntyre's got on there. Had dinner with them &
finally got into the train & a good bath &c. & bed by 10. or so -
Pretty good night.
Tues 1913
Not much of a day.
Tired and blue and rather busy. An "off" day that comes along
occasionally.
Wed 1914
Warmer. Went to the banks
& today. Very head achey this p.m. Lots of Manas orders as the Times pub- lished a nice notice.
Ruth Kingsly
came & we visited tonight.
