320NOVEMBER 7 Mon 1910 Chilly & busy day. Had a long talk with Lura tonight. Gurdon came up this evening so did Meta S. & we had quite an interesting conversation - looked at photos & &c. &c. G. seems delighted with everything. Afterward I directed Manas Press envelopes till 11:30 or so. Home to lunch Tues 1911 Election day. Edgerton elected again ( 3rd time) and Howard Mosher de- feated. Rather strenous at the office dark & rainy - but nice to have Jim again. Went to Miss Colegrove's tonight. Read after supper. Thurs 1912 The less said about this day the better. It was one of my "bad" ones. Poured too. Claude went to Bonbright's big dinner - 'phoned me first. Lydia
read.
Fri. 1913 Lovely day. Had a bad tooth and interviewed the dentist. Eugenie came in this p.m. - so lovely from Mrs. Watson's lunch with a bunch of violets for me. Jim "rode us" all home. Found sent Miss Kingsley of Syracuse home - for the Mechanics . She took our room - Blonde - interesting and not too young to be nice. She was awfully used up tonight tho'. Sat 1914. A compliment from Florence this a.m. for giving up my ride. Lunched alone (a [illegible] boy & girl) & then went to "Fanny's First Play" - very amusing. Then to Carolyn Upton's to dinner & till 11:30. It was very thrilling our evening - horoscope & story of her sad life and love. I loved her & felt sorry for her more than ever before.
