219JULY 29 Fri 1910 Father looked dreadfully to me this morning.
I had quite a hard day anyway. Down to Duffy's & to do errands at Scrantom's this noon (a talk with
Lansing Wetmore about Centerville) and
tonight to the hospital again.
Mother was just leaving & I
staid till seven - a new nurse came - a sheaffle
thunder shower early in the evening. Geo.
Wilkinson here with flowers. He is very nice. Bath and bed early tonight.
Sat 1911
Quite a strenuous morning.
FatherPfau, Collins,
Paradis &
Reinhardt there and soon. Got all thro' by noon or (thro'
& met Mother & went to
Conesus Lake at 1:40. Nice ride up the lake (warm
day) & found Dem &
Mannin. Later Mate & Frank came in an
auto with the Edwards. Quite a nice blew up &
Chas. rowed over about six. Supper
& a long visit on the piazza. The place looks nice and the day was really
fine. So was the windy lake at sunset.
Sat 1912
Up early & out at
Muskoka
wharf at 6:30. From 7 to 2 coming up the lakes a lovely day too. Had
breakfast on board. It was interesting but in the p.m. I was awfully sleepy - got to the Summit
House, had lunch & then unpacked & slept till 7. After
supper watched the moon- light & the people &c. and went to bed about
9:30.
Tues 1913
Lunched with Edith at Sibley's. A very hot day. Went over to Chat's tonight to take back "Zueld". They go to St. Helena
tomorrow ([illegible] Had a nice little visit.
Bessie Dennis there & we came home together.
Thurs 1914
July 30 Still nice.
Some warmer. Walked to & fro. Not busy - got a nice letter from
"Herbert Hagar". Zoe Parker
Davis's lunched with me this noon. (Also Bessie Bob a little while.) I wrote &
"figgered" tonight & Mother & I
both very tired. Ruth R. coming next wk
