51FEBRUARY 20 Sun 1910 Lovely day. Heard Caruso, Scotti. Melba &c. this a.m. via the telephone & Alice Bradshaw's new Victor went up in the car with Meta & Theo & their showshoes & skis- (Margaret has the mumps) Had a long talk with Fred W. about Richmond Hill. The children delighted to have "Uncle Fred" here. Later Chat & Lura & Frances came & Mr. & Mrs. Tappan & Jessie
. The children were all good & adorable, Fred walked down with me to see Father& Mother - the Kittens & the flat. Wrote letters &c. later & had lunch.

Just heard Pet Rogers died yesterday
Jim arrived 30th birthday! Busy this a.m. Faught leaves tomorrow. Tappan just back from N.Y. Staid home this p.m. Blizzardy & neuralgia-y. I read, embroidered, cleaned my music box, visited with Mrs. Alan were called made fudge. Went over for a little visit - with Meta. John there too and to Frieda's. Went to bed soon after nine and slept pretty well. Our boys went to a party at Joe Roby's.
Tue 1912 Jim well, happy and 31. Wrote Claude's "Gift of Asia" fine! Spent most of the p.m. in Dr. McInter's having a gold Crown fitted - no fun! More letters & magazines tonight. Thurs. 1913 Jim's birthday - 32 - walked down with Marguerite. Still warm - went to the Station this noon. I do think it is beautiful. Home for a change tonight, but didn't do much. Fri. 1914 Jim meant to stay home to celebrate - but only stayed home in the p.m. He got loads of presents and was very popular. Ruth
went to Syracuse to spend the three holidays. Mal lunched with me at Sibley's.
