135MAY 14 Sat. 1910 Still quite cool. Stopped at Mary
's this noon to leave Auto coal. Saw Bess & she was "affectionate". Tonight Mary & I went to Cook's & saw Jessie Bonesteel and Julius McNickal
in "A cottage in the Air" An ingruous thing - all talking broken English &c. The English "Lady Shuttleworth" was a peach. I had gone to the Hippo &c. Came home late & very tired & sleepy.
Sun. 1911 A perfect day. About 10:30 Marguerite & I went down to Seneca Park. Saw 4 lovely bears rolling round & then went way down the path and talked & home [illegible]. after dinner (at home) Nana, the children & I drove around So. Park. The Hampdens & Car- nahan's dined at Claude's. Went down to Lura to supper & Mother came Lura went with us to the Park Ave. Baptist church to hear Dr. Chenful
. Rode up with Chattie (Mr. Vick, Frank, Mrs. D.)
Tues. 1912 Still cool & not very pleasant Lunched at Cafeteria. Saw Bess & Mary & they want me to go to "Ida Pitler's" for Decoration Day. Tonight Mother& I finished reading "Penelopes Progress". Still cool Mother went to "Autumn Chapter at Mrs Roesenbusche's" Wed. 1913 Lovely day. Bought a pretty brown suit (maternal) for Lydias
dressmaker to make. We miss the Rowes. They phone often, however.
Thurs. 1914 Fine at last - but cool. Went up to meet the Auto. & rode from Mt. Hope -to school & to the Station. Lunched with Edith & shopped. Tonight Chattie & I went to the Gordon to see "A million Bid" - then to supper down room & then I went up & stayed with her (We talked till 12:15!) Slept in Helen's room.
