318NOVEMBER 5 Sat 1910 Went to Cad's to lunch & we had an "orgie" of cross stitch embroidery this p.m. It was real nice. We talked about things that happened, 15 or 20 years ago - like & so old ladies! Then I went to Miss Limericks for my dress and this evening Mrs. Rowe & Margueritecame over & sat by our fire and we all worked & gossiped & had a real good time. Sun 1911 A lovely day. Did lots of odd jobs in the morning and went to CFB to a nice dinner (curry) Amelie took us up in the Auto. Afterward went to the Crysanthum show in me new Highland green houses. Then Mother left us & I took Henry & Chan in the express cart for a long walk, up past the Co. buildings thro' Elmwood Ave & back to the park - where we found Frank & Frances & Kitty C. they came back with us to see the new play room - Read tonight. Bess & Mame had been here early. Tues 1912 A great Election day - Woodrow Wilson defeating Taft & Roosevelt for president. Lydia
& I went to the Flower show (tho the Election crowds) & heard the returns. The show was lovely. Trautmann planned it.
Wed 1913 Headache &c. Lunched at Sibley's. Rode out to Judson's with Claude & Clarence
this p.m. It was delightful there. Jim took me home at 5. I went back to the Lyceum. Belasco's new production "The Man Inside" (a drama of crime - opium dens &c.) very powerful indeed. Rode up with on of Lydia
's schoolmates.
Thurs 1914 Cold. Dressmakers (Mc. D.) this a.m. Lunched with Bess & Mary & (the Adams) this home. At four went out to Flor- ence's at her invitation and had a cup of tea with her. She was rather blue & I didn't feel so awfully cheerful - Had some long phone talks with her and Irene tonight.
