Sun. 1910
A beautiful day - warmer.
Went to Claude's to dinner (early) and
took dear little Chan's picture with
"Bobbie". Then Letitia, Kath and I went up
to Industry on the 2:16 and Miss
Jackson showed us a lot of the plan & told us things &
made us tea &c. &c. We came back at 5:35. I came right home - read
& played music. Later fixed my postal card book. Mother says L's beloved bees strung her and Claude (quite badly) & Henry
once & Mother once! I don't approve
of bees - even "Italian" ones.
[see mem.] Mon 1911 [see mem.]
Fine. A nice letter from Mrs. Davis,
praising our boys - and Lura by word of
mouth did the same. Frank was delighted with Frances' picture.
Lura & I lunched with Mary & Nellie at
Sibley's. Tonight I read & sewed &
wrote & figured. Bought some new Dorothy Dodd
shoes of Mr. Pratt in Sibley's. I like "Queed" immensely. Mother had a grand house - cleaning today all
day & a late supper.
Wed 1912
Better. Mother went off at 6:30! a.m. to
Lilly
were in it. It
rained some. Breakfasted and lunched at the Manhattan. I
think the little English bride & groom (Fl. Rogers)
sat opposite
Thurs 1913
Cool. Walked down to
Miss Nichols with Magazines this a.m. & to
Marguerite's school No. 10 to
"advise" with Miss Chace about the new plans at noon.
Busy today.
Eugenie's Aunt came tonight & [illegible]
(the [illegible] girl) left. Read "Sat Eve Post"
& then went to our rooms. Mother& I.
Fri. 1914
Cool & lovely. We all
"hit the trail" ("4 boats") to
Eagle & Bug lakes this a.m. & explored their
beauties - a nice time. A siesta after dinner (such a lazy day!) & then I
rowed Ruth
'way up opposite Bug trail & around the Island &c. &c. The
girls went up Sugarloaf. Had an early (& nice) campfire &
then sat around in the living room till late.
