218JULY 28 Thurs 1910 Beautiful day. Father cheerful this a.m. & looked comfortable. Had a nice lunch at Duffy's with Mother & shopped. Tonight to the hospital again. He looks so weak & poor. Claude the dear - came down tonight & we had a long intimate talk. I am sure we have all made up our mind to lose our Father & in a way are reconciled - wrote letters later. Fri. 1911 Warmer A very busy day. R.R. men &c. &c. went over to Sibley's for a little lunch & worked till after five. Edith J.came up for me & went home to supper to take me for a ride (& John
) Claude came a little later. Our boys were down in the a.m. Nice invitation from the Andrews for "Old Home" week "in D. Claude got a nice letter from his devoted W.H."
Fri 1912 July 26 Warmer - worked right thro' finishing up at the office - shopping at the Lehigh & packed [illegible] my trunk & had supper at 5 - left at 6. via Lehigh. Had an hour or so in Buffalo & went to Huylers for soda. Was tucked in my berth at 10:15. Saw Niagara gorge by moonlight - Slept off & on OK. Mon 1913 Very warm. Worked very hard. Went to Mabel's with some Perfects to luncheon. Had Victrola later. Home to supper at 7. A long ride with Jim & Helen. Maplewood Park & Geo Humphreys &c. Then to 102 Aberdeen St. and "so home" to accounts - another hot night I'm afraid. Wed 1914 July 29 Fine day! Went to the auto-boys & to the dress makers in a.m. Rode home with Jim at noon & found Letitia here. Jim brought back 42 Manas orders! Claude & Eugenie are having such a nice week in Deerfield! Trudy went to Pike this p.m. to see Miss Lathrop. Sew tonight. Sleepy. Went to the Gordon late p.m. - a good show.
