7JANUARY 7 Fri. 1910
Another lovely snow storm.
Felt pretty "rocky" but better when I got to the office. Not so busy today.
Lunched at Sibley's alone again and
went to Hippodrome which was unusually good. A nice
visit with Claude - who insists he
wants me to come to his office. Went up to see Mary's
new office
(42') tonight. It is very nice indeed. Took
her a calendar. Found when I got home that the Boyce
boy's
aunt Mrs. Church - died suddenly in her
chair this afternoon. Eugene Satterlee also died today -
Edith J.
came up tonight & spent the evening. Thinks the house is "lovely"!
Sat. 1911
Nice day - Tappan back but not Jim. Went to the Hippodrome - which is
still good. To Sibley's
to lunch (alone) & did some shopping. Then went home and sewed a
little and
Mother & I went to Duffy's to lunch. Guernsey
Curtis sang - ending with "Mandalay"
Edith & the Maises
Sun. 1912
A fine cold day. Slept late. Miss Daly's friend left
CFB's to dinner. The boys
had
Uncle Fred's "surprise boxes."
This p.m. Bess & Mary - Belle came up & sat in front of
the crackly cannel fire before & after supper - a nice long visit. I
read "The Iron Woman"
later.
Tues. 1913
Nice busy day. I stay
down because Mother don't feel first
rate. Shop or go to a picture show at noon & hurry home
at night to supper & reading. Am reading over Maggie
Brown's letters.
Wed. 1914
Lunched with Margaret Bradshaw
& then Bess & Mary at Sibley's. A dark day. Brought my books home (in the
auto with Jim) and worked most of the
evening. Stopped to heal
