267SEPTEMBER 15 Thurs 1910
A perfect September day.
Went to the Shoe makers & to Mrs. Weston's and then
to the office. My oak desk came & I wrote letters for CFB. &c. Came home for 12:30 dinner and
left for the lake about 1. Caught the
2:10 Manitou car & went to the
Pringle's cottage "The Poplars" stop 9 - visited.
Took
Elizabeth's picture went rowing on the pond. Hat in
Mr. P. then boat - had a big supper & then
Mr. & Ms. P &
Eliz & I went rowing on the lake lovely. Stopped at Edith's coming home.
Fri 1911
Warmer. The competing
architects went to Kodak to look at the designs & everyone (even Cutler who won) gave the prize to Claude (he & H&C
had an equal number of
votes first it seems) Tappan
left tonight. I spent the evening finishing "Queed". It is
charming - such a dear
character. I really had to cry!
Sun 1912
Cloudy morning & poured
this p.m. "counted acts" this a.m. & after dinner (at home) put on a
petticoat & dress which were to be washed - old shoes - raincoat,
umbrella & took a fine long walk all over G.V. Park. About 20 golfers was playing in the pouring rain.
Got home just in time for supper (brought ice cream) & then visited
Marguerite and wrote awhile.
Mon 1913. Mrs. Perrin called up & visited me an Ordinary party
tonight. Shopped at noon (a new dress for Frank
Davis wedding, too!)
Florence
wasn't invited. It was a funny party but I had a very good time. Lots of music
Mr. Whitney sang "Mandalay".
"Brons"
Allen brought me home in his car -
at midnight with
Jim Feely sitting on my feet!!
Tues 1914
Still lovely. Lunched with
Bess& Mary &
Mother. Ruth
came down with them to
Syracuse. They saw a deer from the train. Had a nice
ride with Jim tonight. A nice
Mrs. Conkling (a wheeler quit of
Oswego) was here calling. Then did accounts, wrote
&c. Mae Stull came in to tell me
about Letitia.
