Everything covered with snow
this morning but the house warm & cozy. Lunched down town with
Bess & Mary (after Hippo) They are talking of
building a house on their lot [illegible] & Tappan
says he will give them his $2600 plans. I went over to see Marguerite - who has been sick & then
read "The Caravaners" aloud to
Mother & she to me while I served.
Ed Gordon
came in to see us today - just the same!

Nice day. Talked a lot with
Claude. I do love that boy!
Everyone Xmas
shopping & Sibley'sXmas windows fine!
Mother went to prayer meeting for a
change tonight. We read aloud (in turn) and I cross - stitch &c nearly
every night. I read magazines in the den - up late
tonight.
Fri. 1912
Went to Cro'nest early - to get some books.
Jim had a nice talk. Alice Wolfe came in! Lunched with her &
had a good visit. Met Hana who introduced me to his
Miss Waite in the elevator! Went to Miss
Loom's with books this noon! Walked home, part way with
Margaret Bradshaw. Tonight Arranged
Portage pictures for a book for
Lydia
(& one for me) Bath and bed rather late.
Sat. 1913
Early this p.m. went to
Cro'nest and kept house.
Claude & Eugenie went to Wyoming at four.
Chan & Henry came in at 5 - few of "Cow Punches" love "initiations"
&c. I gave them their supper put them to bed & read to them from
the wonder book after they got there. Then read to myself from
the "Passionate" friends" till 11. Slept in Claude's room.
Sun 1914
Lovely! Slept late & then
fixed my bureau drawers &c. Had a glass of milk & took the 1:10
car to the Power HouseIrene too. We had a glorious woodsy
walk till 4:28 - arbuustes budded
! Winter greens, ferns,
moss & lovely things. Then a little fire in the woods at 7 went to
Lura's to a lovely dinner with Mary & Nellie
Mac & Florence
Penfield - staid late -rain!
