184JULY 2 Sat 1910 A warm day. Stopped at the Hospital found Father was reasonably comfortable. At noon came home & staid till 4 or so and then went to the Hospital & stayed till, seven - F. had been sleeping sat on the piazza a while & had a late supper. Was very tired - and very hot. Trudysleeping in the den Miss Hull & the night nurse both left. Saw Dr J's home Sun 1911 Hot day. Claude worked till dark on a new (elevation) scheme for the station. Mother & I didn't go up till toward evening. I was boiling most of the day. Ate almost no dinner and read Burgess' fool book "Lady Merchante", Parker Bridges born. Tues 1912 Nothing special today I am reading "The Winning of Barbara Worth". Enjoy my new front room very much. Leslie is sleeping in our third story. Wed 1913 A little cooler today. Busy this a.m. & at 2:45 Went in private car "Danton". Party of 18 (mem) to Pt. au Baril Florence McLaughlin with me. A nice time. At Buffalo went to Huyler's for soda &c. Then dinner (near Brantford) and lots of shifting at Toronto. Slept pretty well. Florence had the state room & invited me to share it. I did dress there. The people seem very nice and congenial & we (after Toronto) really had a good time. Bed late - about 12. Thurs 1914 Dull soggy morning but a fine p.m. Went to banks &c. This noon & lunched at Manhattan (N.G.) Tonight had our Perfects party at Mary's tent. H & I in charge) Mabel Florence
Pres. Hawley! Helen, Chat, Edith, Lura, Nellie, Mary & I. Matie looks surprising well & after jaw operation! Mabel recited anti-Suffrage &c. &c.
