330NOVEMBER 17 Thurs 1910 YWCA donation. Mother there all day. I went over at noon & at night with Mary
to supper. Had been to dentist's & was very tired. Mother sold jars of pumpkin with receipt for pie! Had a talk with Mrs. Arnold about Matie.
Fri 1911 A miserable day weather wise. Damp & dark this p.m. Slippery & drizzly later & tonight the limit of cold rain & slush. Got my feet wet coming home (in cars, too from the Hippodrome) & again going to Mr. Rogers & Theosophical at lecture at the Mountain church. Claude has the beginnings of a hard cold. Our little boys called on us - the dears! Sun 1912 Mother not able to go to Cro'nest to dinner. Claude brought Henry down (Chan sick) H. much inter- ested in checkers. When Coralyn
came from church she & Lydia
& I went to Highland Park. Cry- santhemum show via. Cro'nest. Also to the pavilion. The view was lovely - snow cloud &c - cool. Walked by tennis court home. Nice dinner about 3 (all of us). Then bath & hair wash & reading in bed. Chocolate at 9. The girls are so nice & seem very happy here.
Mon 1913 Cooler. Went to Forman's and bought a nice warm coat today & then to McCurdy's to lunch. Tonight Claude entertained the Humdrum & we entertained the children all night (#see mem) I dressed up and went to the Rochester Orchestra on Claude's tickets. Took Marguerite. Met Miss Henry & Miss Williams - out early. Tues 1914 Arrived at the beautiful new Grand Central I went N.Y. at 7:50 & taxi - ed - to Waldorf - got a beautiful suite - #640. Shopped later C.U. bought me a beautiful silk Kimona (blue) a nightie. Lunched at Lord & Taylor's lovely tea room & had chat with Harry there & the Headley's. Took a walk alone - for seats - in p.m. & walked thro' Library. Had dinner in our rooms (fine!) & dressed & went to see Walter H. in "Life" at Manhattan. Afterward a perfectly delicious supper - baked oysters - sweet breads & mushrooms & [illegible] pudding & "Chateau d' Queen in grille at Waldorf. Lovely dancing & gayness till all hours. Bed very late.
