176JUNE 24 Fri 1910 Cooler - A gorgeous day. Dr. Snow & Dr. Jewett both came & dear Father consented to have the operation. There is danger but the alternative is too terrible! Edna, Reba & the children called & later Mother & I walked down to "Ann Macgregor Paine's" to the C.E. lawn party for ice cream but were late. Sat 1911 Nice day, but I felt very rocky - Came home after some shopping and spent the afternoon & evening reading & loafing & talking to Marguerite. Slept in the dew. Mon 1912 Still lovely, but warmer. Our new boy "Ernst Petersen" came (Roy
left Saturday) Claude came home (with a "new" Gretchen & some "paddle boats") & the boys were down with Nana this a.m. Tonight I went to the Hippodrome & walked home. Farquharson walked way up exchange St with me - A queer man. I wonder if I understand him. I think I do!
Tues 1913 A hot day, but not quite so busy, I'm thankful to say. Mother used up with Mrs. Faleis
& house cleaning today, but we went over to Rowe's had a pleasant evening on their veranda. Bunch of peonies from garden to take home.
Wed 1914 Hot! The limit!! Tonight auto'ed home with Claude, to Vacuum Oil works to Weaver's for ice cream &c. Tried both porches in evening but with little relief. A bad night.
