Donald
came home with Frieda & Leslie
last night.
Our lights OK this morning. Didn't sleep first rate - so much thunder & all. Very busy day. Hospital morning & night. Dear Father so weak & so patient. Told the girls I wouldn't go to Cape Cod. Had a long chat with Mrs. Caring & Katherine tonight. Then read & hung Mother's new dress.
Tues 11 The wind waked me early this a.m. and then I overslept. Home to lunch & took Mrs. Caring's Helen's picture. Roy Bartlett, Sherby
& Reinhardt called at the office today. I called at Rowe's tonight & then came home & read "O Henry". It was cold and rained.
Thurs 1912 Home to fix Peter's meal at noon & then lunched with Klemmy Goodyear inDuffy's Cafeteria. Mother came home this p.m. and we all had dinner together at Cro'nest. Then went home and packed, did accounts &c. &c. Fri 1913 Lovely day. Lunched with Bess & Mary. Jim was lame from cranking the machine & not there much. Read new magazines tonight (very tired & blue)
July 24
Sun 1914 A perfect Summer day. The lake was lovely after breakfast. Maryread aloud. Then Myra
went to S.S. and Trudy & I to Durand Park & all through the woods (Saw Troup H. &c.) Dinner - a bath (for some) a lot of bluff - sitting & loafing, reading & resting. After supper a walk to the end of the Park Pier & such a sunset I - simply gorgeous - more bluff & pale moonlight!
