98APRIL 7 Thurs 1910
Cold & stormy - snow.
Lunched at Sibley's with Edith Andrews. She & Mother were at a morning - meeting all day.
Tonight we tried to go to Temple
but finally landed at "Superba" (Cooks in a box - a rankly
funny thing - was dead tired when I got home. Talked some.
Fri 1911
Cool again - but clear &
fine. Tonight
Mary & I walked down & met Edith - just back from
N.Y. went to Minette
's for hot chocolate and had quite a visit. Later went up to
Claude's & had dinner with Louisa - who is there over night. She has
been to
Syracuse again. The boys were dear. Mother
& I came down in the moonlight and I sewed a little - read and
"herded cats".
Sun 1912
About the worst
Easter (weather wise) I ever saw. Driving rain & mud
turning to sleet & cold & dreary. Went up to Claude's & missed Letitia, tho' Mary
did well & so did Mrs. Willard. The boys
were lovely in their new blue
sailor suits. I played with them before the fire &
then came home & read "Lord Jim" till dark.
Mon 1913
The excitement of the day
was that Lydia
sick a bed) Claude was in
LeRoy.
Tues 1914
Gloomy day - Chance down with
children in a.m. Went to the Mechanics to lunch - about my silk dress. Rain p.m.
Both Frieda & Meta were up tonight. I think they will rent
the downstairs flat to the Stricklands.
