362DECEMBER 19 Mon 1910 Dear Boy back again at work I'm not very busy but kept out of mischief. A terrible explosion in Central Power House in N.Y. - which makes the road still poorer. Miss Mc A says J.W. is not well at all - poor man Went to bed at 9:30 - very tired. Tues 1911 A heavenly morning. For a wonder neither the boys nor I were seasick at all - but Nana still weak. Went on deck early. It was very exciting - pilot boat - tender at St. Georges. Beautiful views. Our arrival by tender - the "Bermudian" - a warship - a wreck &c. A nice drive to Grassmore which we found a nice place. Had a pleasant walk along the shore - a good lunch and finally went for a lovely drive to the "city" for boats & then to Elba Beach - be-au-ti-ful to play in the sand, a good dinner and a visit with Miss Woodruff & others later. Thurs 1912 Not very pleasant. Down to lunch. When I got home tonight Lydia
was just starting off for Washington.
Fri 1913 Marguerite lunched with me today & we had a pleasant time. She is just off for Dansville & the tango-filled holidays. Shopped a little. Sat 1914 A nice winter day. Spent all the p.m. doing up Xmas parcels. Except long phone talks with Irene & in the evening with Florence. Its kind-a nice with the girls gone home!
