345DECEMBER 2 Fri 1910
Good sleighing today - & a
year ago when we moved here ( 22 Hubbell
Park) it was like October! We got up at 6:30 & Meta went off early. Frieda &
Leslie
went for a walk. I came home to lunch & found Henry & Chan here - the dears. Henry
can spell his name -H-e-n-r-y. Tonight went to
Hippo & MacKinnon's late supper
- sewed &c. Meta had a last
Edition
with Mr. Letchworth's
death (yesterday) at Portage.
Sat 1911
Nice day. Lunched with
Lura & Mrs.
B. and worked this p.m. on (a long letter to Wynne I took on the typewriter) Tonight we 3
went to "The Spring Maid" at the Lyceum - very pretty & tuneful a big
crowd.
Mon 1912
Rainy & dreary. Dear
Claude got home this morning - but
things (E's Mother) in
N.Y. make him rather blue. He say it "will come out all
right". Lunched at Duffy's cafeteria with
Klem. Busy with letters. Very tired
tonight & dear Mother very lame.
Coralyn
read "Jennie Brice". Figured till late. It is getting
colder - & windy.
Tues 1913
Lunched today with the
girls (I believe I didn't eat any yesterday?) and tonight went with
Ruth Kingsley
to see John Drew in "The Tyranny of Tears"
& Barrie's "The Will". Enjoyed it immensely.
Everybody in Home was there.
Wed. 1914
Still rainy. Lunched with
Bess
& Mary and at 5 took Miss Uptons
Umbrellas home & she made me come in for an upstairs dinner &
chat & showed me pretty Baltimore things
& the house & is urging me to go to
California with her! 'Phoned Irene later.
