252AUGUST 31 Wed. 10
Nothing much today. Claude home and Station begun. Poured
tonight. Very tired & went to be rather early. Feel very rocky!
Thurs 1911
Learned last night that
Jim broke his leg at Clubb's house yesterday! Went to see him this
noon. A strenuous day.
Claude not home. Tappan going in 2 weeks - &c. &c. but it came out OK.
Developed 2 rolls of pictures tonight. Edna,
George & Lois were
over in the evening. Went to bed late & tired. (Jim & Hahneman)
Sat 1912
Not a very pleasant half
holiday. I came home to lunch and then went back and saw "The girl
of my Dreams" at the Lyceum.
Rather cute but I couldn't hear half.
Stern is in Toronto
& Bohachek & Frey
on Vacations. In the evening home. To bed early. Don't feel first rate.
Mrs. Davis, Frances & Mrs. Baker back
from Bedford.
Sun 13
Nice day. To Cro'nest to dinner (out- doors) & then
to Jim's house. He was there with
Helen, Walter
& Marie. They took
Mother for a ride & home. I went to
Bess &
Mary's & had a nice visit. Staid to
supper & on the upper veranda. They came up (to church) with me.
"Good to be home".
Mon. 1914
Rained in the night. We sat
in the sun awhile & then we walked up to Bert's tent
took pictures &c. The Adams went at noon after lots
of five about dressing up &c. We rode over to Bert's
new camp (the house) & Bess
paddled the canoe back. Lovely p.m. There we went up to "Bug Lake
Trail" & Bess of I
walked to the Lake - which was lovely in the p.m. sun under the pines. Saw the
Michaels crowd at landing. Had a moonlight row after supper and then
dozed in the open camp. I like the peace.
