273SEPTEMBER 21 Wed. 1910 All up late. A beautiful morning - bird sounds. Went for a little row (pictures) before breakfast & after it walked up to reservoir & to the little point (past the cave) were going for a long walk this p.m. but it poured during dinner so we spent the p.m. in the hammock pretending to read & watching the lovely cloud shadows. Before dinner read "Mary Cary" out on the dock in the sun & finished it after dinner. This evening the McC. boys brought us letters. & we did not play cards. But went out to see the most beautiful moonlight cloud reflections I ever saw. A very cold night indeed. Didn't sleep very well Thurs. 1911 It poured this p.m. & got dark & dreary a very strenuous day at the office. I went up to Claude's after supper & in spite of the rain about 20 people were there to meet the Khedkars & hear them talk. A very interesting discussion. Mrs. K. is very "Hindu" indeed & wears native costume & Judge
& Mrs. Werner brought me home in their taxi at. Tinker seems better.
Sat. 1912 Worked a good deal of the day - but finally got away after four & went to the exposition browzed around by myself and stayed to hear Pryor's Band. It was cool sitting out. Bought my fall hat at Duffy's (on a transfer!) Sun. 1913 Rained hard all night & all day long. Had a nice dinner & nice talk at Cro'nest & walk home. Eugenie was one of the guest-of-honor at Mrs. Willard's dinner of 50 guests of the club. Letitia is almost beside herself in her actions toward Eugenie and even Claude had to have a talk with her yesterday about it. It does seem too bad. She has been at Mrs. Herzbergers this week. Wrote and read when I got home. Mon. 1914 Lunched with Bess & Mary today & went over our The Lake pictures which are fine. At 5 went to the Gordon & saw little Mary Pickford in "Such a Little Queen"
