78MARCH 18 Fri 1910.
Bright & cold.
President Taft came at 3:45 and Alice B & I went down & saw him pass in a daffodil
covered automobile. He looked fine. I lunched at Sibley's with Charlotte
& Lura & tonight went to the
Knickerbocker & then down to Edith's (Miss Hosey was there of course)
and she went to Miss Maise's sale with me. We had a long
visit with Mrs. M.very tired when I got home - accounts &c and now
a hot bath.
Sat 1912 Claude came home from
N.Y. with 80 pages of specifications to write. Busy
all day (home at noon) dined at Sibley's
with Chat, Mary& Nellie & afterward, strolled around & went to
"Little Miss Fix it" at the Lyceum - real cute remarks. Pretty Clothes - light &
frivolous perform- ance. Claude was at
Harry's new home - fine.
Mon 1912
Nice bright day - busy - This
noon I went to the p.o. & got the Khudkar's box
from India ($4.43 duty) Full of odd brass things -
Alabaster (broken) &c. Tonight Mother & I went to Miss Bridgman's
(the dress maker's) & down to
Edna's new house corner of
Glendale Park - very nice
indeed for them
Tues 1913 Coralyn
is so delighted with her new room! Mother got a letter from
Lydia
indicating that she would be back after Easter. I
walked down with Marguerite this a.m.
Took Lura
to lunch this noon & we had quite a bat. Looked at hats afterwards.
Wed 1914.
Gloomy & soggy &
turned into a blizzard again tonight. Hemeny has tho
mumps quite badly. Went to Sibley's
to lunch alone shopped this p.m. & read the family to sleep tonight.
Ruth Du Roe's birthday today.
