302OCTOBER 20 Thurs 1910 Jno. was in for the Frey bids - & the boys are delighted
with the prospect of new tenants. Big Firemen's parade
this p.m. I saw it from Lura's - (&
Cutler's) The Boys were invited to
Mrs. Little's. Helped do a big puzzle over at
Rowe's to- night. Miss Canaby
(of Glasgow St.) was there.
Fri 1911
A foggy morning. but nice. Mother took
Mrs. S. to Cro'nest in
our auto. (& Jim) and then got the
boys & started for a long ride but Hammond broke down
on
Cobb's Hill & they took the car to the
station. I lunched with Bess & had
a nice chat.
Mother & I both rather done up tonight. I
sewed & she went to bed. Early!Mr. Grueby & "Billy Graves"
here. Tile for station let.
Sun 1912
This day is to stand out like
the day on the Lete
& I started at 8 & went to Portageville (a
glorious ride). Walked to the high bridge & down the entrancing
glen. Never lovelier - Glen Iris, where we had a delicious dinner
with Miss. Bishop(Mr. Letchworth's
secretary - he died in Dec. 1910) & Miss Howland (his
niece who knows the Woodruff's of
Auburn. Nice time [illegible]
lots of Rochester people. The p.m. was even
lovlier than the a.m. We went to the lower fall [illegible].
(see mem) Mon 1913
Rode down with the boys this
a.m. Lunched at the "Manhattan" for a change! We have a new
man in the office. One of the King
boys who used to live on
Reynold St! Corrected Claude's
proof tonight.
Tues 1914 Mother spent the day (till 10pm) With
Mrs. Conklin & Mrs Blackledge. I
lunched with Margaret Bradshaw & later with Florence and at 4 & after went up to
East High for
Irene Winans and we took a lively walk
together - out to Blossom anyway & the Pen-
field Rood & in East ave. 4 or 5
miles came in late and tired & hungry & feeling fine! She said
nice things to me & told me her troubles.
