- Mrs. Herzberger ("have
somewhere? &c.")
Aug. 20 1910. Sat. Busy till 1:20. Home late, good dinner. To
Webster ("Holt road") with Letitia to see her "farm" - a very nice one -
back about 6:15. Mother with the dear
children. Supper there & home to accounts and writing & early bed.
Claude at spragues.
Miss Flack anxious for me to go with her up
to the mountains - tonight! Very tired.
Sun 1911
Lovely day but quite cool yet.
Busy "getting ready" all morning. Claude's to dinner. Boys dears of course. Down early
with Mother & read "[illegible]glory" over between times. Nice supper
before starting. Mr. Rowe
went with us at 7. The beginnings of the G.A.R. convention.
Mary & Nellie came to the dock to see us off. A perfect night &
calling down. Sat on desk & counted shooting stars (8). The sky & lake
very beautiful, but rough in the night (room 46)
Mon (19) 1912
I mixed up Monday -
Tuesday. It rained today - poured and was
horrid & muggy. Didn't do anything special. Claude reports Walter the
idol of Green Acre &c. We played
flincha little tonight. Sent off my English Photos
Wed 1913
A perfect day. A nice row in
the a.m. &
Mary caught a big fish but didn't land it.
Spent p.m. on bluff in sun with book & candy. Sunset there &
then an evening on the veranda.
Mr. Stone's French experiences. (after the
W'S
went to bed) The "tout-petite" cat. &c. &c. Not so early to bed
as usual. He proves to be very agreeable.
Thurs 1914
Lunched with Bess at
Mechanics (Maryat 7th lake. I've about decided to
go) Rode home via.
