174JUNE 22 Wed 1910 Still hot Father still sick & not likely to be better Dr. Jewett says until he has an operation - removing the prostrate gland which presses against the bladder opening. Dr. Andrews happened to call & advised it too - Dear Mother quite used up over it. Of course it is to have further consideration. We sat on Rowes steps a while tonight. Marguerite leaving for Albion Thurs 1911 Warm muggy day - a shower during lunch. Henry & Chan were down to lunch & dinner (Nana's sister came for an X-ray) They were so dear. Making Coronation Parades with charming soldiers & block. (George V & Mary of England are crowned today) Tonight Marguerite was over a little while. The boys walked over to Plymouth Park with me Claude to make his speech at the dinner of the Arch. League the of America in Cleveland tonight. Sat 1912 A Perfect day. Had several appointments & dis-appointments with Mary Dickens & finally came home to Church, interviewed a [illegible] Miss MacDonald - who rented (?) My room (in a week) The Lawrence bees swarmed in the pear tree! I went down to Miss Bridgeman's to be fitted, and then up to Cro'nest& Mother, the boys, Nana, Mary
& I, all went over to Highland Park& had a picnic a beautiful evening. The peonies all out & the boys happy & frolicsome - Worked when I got home!
Sun 1913. A lovely day (after yesterday's clouds.) We watched the fishermen &c. on the dock & beach. Then I took the boys for a delightful row 'way up the inlet among the blue dragon flies & red winged black birds. Then a rest before dinner (fresh suits) dinner delicious & a long afternoon on the beach & under the trees. Boat at 5. A nice Thomas Boy & a Reed boy from welington and rode down with us. Gran'ma & Nana met us at 8. Saw hydroplanes! Mon 1914 Cool. Mother read "Laddie" aloud tonight while I sewed "Good to be alone"
