10JANUARY 10 Mon 1910. More snow this morning! This is the great day we (the CMC CO.) got their favorable patent decisions against the St. Louis Co. (A.K Smith's) J.G. was awfully nervous all day & his voice trembled when he told us. I lunched with Bess & Mary at Sibley's. CFB insists I shall come to him. He is seeing about larger offices in the Cutler Bldg today (Tonight I took home JG's 1908 (!) statement to make and after I did that pasted pictures & programs in my theatre book till late. Tues 1911. Started a new set of books at the office today. Jim not there & Dickinson went home sick. At noon went to the Hippodrome (good) & then lunched with Bess & Mary. They invited me down Friday night. Mary Mac called on me twice & to- night I had a long visit with Hamilton D. in Lura's. Mr. Parry was in too. Read & tried to go to bed early (but didn't) tonight. Letters from Edith Andrews & Alice Wolfe nice ones. Wed 1912 Packard tonight. I met Miss Mogge. Still Cold. Came home to lunch read "Man the Square"
proof &c. Read my horoscope to Mother tonight. Staid up till the last ember of the fire to finish "The Iron Woman"
Which is fine! Gurdon took Jim, "Helen" & me home in a #6 Packard tonight. I met Miss Mogge.
Fri. 1913. An Eventful day because we met Claude's Eugenie. She is passing thro' to go to her Aunt Mrs W.L. Kelly of Jefferson. She is lovely & very good looking. Lunched with her & Claude at the Club & she came to see Mother this p.m. & then up to see the Children
and to dine.
Sat 1914. Dark day. Lunched with Marguerite at Sibley's & walked over to the theatre with her. & then back to the office to finish up- which took me some time. Then to the Hippodrome and to Olsans.
Tonight sewed and talked to Ruth
and went to bed rather early & Felix
& Frieda's "Rastus" play beautifully together every day. They are nice little kitty - cats.
