9JANUARY 9 Sun. 1910.
A lovely winter day. Sun in
the morning & a pretty snow storm in the afternoon. After chicken dinner I
went up to Amelie's & talked to
Theo a while by the open fire. Then
Amelie & Meta went up to Cro'nest
with me & we visited the children & Letitia (Claude was resting.)
Hemeny walked down with me & we
went into Amelie's & saw the
Xmas
tree & a piano! Henry said nearly
all his letters on the fence "H" is Henry "B"
for Bragdon "O." for Office "F" for father. "M" for
AuntMaisie " &c. Read to them a little & saw them
eating. Then came home & read.
Mon 1911
Lots doing today. Poor
Jim came in. His Uncle
Mr. Van deVenter died and he has every- thing - even his
sick aunt to see to. Tonight Marguerite & I went to see Sothern &
Marlow in "Macbeth" - a most stunning and perfect
production - down to the very last detail - but too long - we just got the 12
o'clock car & it began at 8. Marlow especially was
perfect & Fred'K Lewis as Macduff too.
Tues. 1912
Awfully cold & stormy.
Mother & I lunched together at
Sibleys & She went to the Autumn Chapter. Gurdon was in. Tonight read "The Iron Woman" by
our nice grate fire.
Thurs 1913.
Very beautiful - The sun
only on the trees - ice covered. This p.m. went in Stern's electric, with him & Jim to
Wolcott & to the Stern house - Everything
so lovely. We took pictures. Last Tonight
read Lydia
my foreign letters -!! Claude
home
Fri 1914.
Happened to get in the car with Claude
& the children
this a.m.
They went to home alone from the 4 corners.
(C. Went to Canandaigua) at noon I went
and got them & took them to
Ex. St.
& got pretty brown dress. At night stopped
in Meta's & had quite a visit. She
goes to Herma's the 27th. Showed me her
pretty new "tango" clothes. The boys in office are dancing nowadays
